Event overview

We are delighted to invite colleagues to our joint Operations Conference marking the end of the 2025–26 academic year. This half-day event provides an opportunity for MAT operations leaders and central teams to reconnect, collaborate, and explore shared strategic priorities across our partnership.

The keynote session, Leading Change and Improvement, will be delivered by Dr Suzanne Ross from Nottingham Business School. The session will be delivered in two parts: first, participants will reflect on a change they have led this year using established frameworks such as Kotter’s 8 Steps and the Change Kaleidoscope to explore successes and challenges; following a short break, the focus will shift to adaptive leadership behaviours and thinking needed to lead improvement effectively in complex trust environments.

Alongside the keynote, attendees will hear updates from Professional Learning and Leadership Community (PLLC) groups, including strategic enquiry work from ICT leaders and developments in Estates Leader CPD and induction. A concise sector update will also explore recent developments from the Department for Education and operational considerations linked to expectations from Ofsted.

Breakout table discussions will support collaboration across HR, Finance, ICT, Estates, Data, Governance, Professional Development, Operations, and Marketing & Communications, as part of our usual PLLC communities, alongside opportunities to shape priorities for the year ahead.

Colleagues are warmly encouraged to attend with members of their wider teams to maximise shared learning and impact.
