Trust Ethos and Strategic Governance: Insights from Inspection and Practice 

This session will explore the evolving demands on governance as trusts respond to new inspection frameworks, growth opportunities, and ongoing strategic pressures. 

We will open with headline insights from recent Ofsted inspections across the partnership, including early trends under the revised Education Inspection Framework and what this means for the role of trust boards and local governance layers. 

We are also pleased to welcome a guest speaker to present on the theme of maintaining a clear and consistent ethos during periods of trust growth.  

This input will provide a valuable stimulus for discussion on how governance can actively support cultural alignment and strategic integration when expanding or reconfiguring. 

The second half of the session will be dedicated to open peer discussion.  

Delegates will be invited to share current governance challenges, reflections from their own inspections, and strategies for sustaining effective oversight under increasing external and internal pressures.
