Focus: The Writing Framework 

Action: A chance to explore the key messages in the DfE’s Writing framework.  

Starter: Revisit Oracy toolkit and share any reflections. Do we need more time on it? 

A chance to share how writing is taught across each trust.  

1. Look at the DfE summaries of the writing framework and work in groups to identify key messages for schools.  

2. What aspects are already strong in our trusts and what does this look like?  

3. What are the key messages that schools will need to consider and develop?  

4. Supporting schools to plan effective implementation and not rush to buy programmes.  

5. Access supportive material sent via the English Hub.

Post session task: Help identify a school for the next SEND focused school visit.
