Opened in 2019 as the first free school within Flying High Partnership, Hucknall Flying High Academy has rapidly established itself as one of the highest-performing primary schools in the region. Despite opening just before the challenges of Covid, the school has flourished — developing an exceptional curriculum and a strong personal development offer that ensures every child thrives.

Following its 2024 Ofsted inspection, the school was graded ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, with outcomes across all key stages significantly above national averages. Its success has also made it the second most oversubscribed school in Nottinghamshire — a testament to its reputation and impact within the local community.
