Event overview
Focused online support for Year 6 practitioners
As the KS2 SATs period approaches, Year 6 teams are juggling high expectations with the everyday realities of classroom life.
Designed to supplement our face to face programme, these sessions are a flexible way to access the same expert input wherever you're based. Each one has a single, clear focus, giving you the chance to go deeper on a specific area of KS2 SATs preparation without it taking you away from school for long.
It's part of a growing regional programme building on last year's KS2 SATs Support Network, which brought Year 6 teachers and leaders together for expert input, practical guidance and the reassurance of knowing you're not tackling this alone.
Join Kerry Biggs, Victoria Cairns and Sam Pearson from Glenbrook Spencer Academy as they share their evidence-informed approach to raising attainment through high-quality reading provision. This session will explore how effective assessment is used to precisely identify needs and target support, alongside the strategic implementation of oracy to accelerate pupil progress. Through a compelling case study, delegates will discover how a sustained focus on reading, language development and inclusive practice has driven continued improvements in outcomes for disadvantaged pupils year after year.
