Event overview
Focused online support for Year 6 practitioners
As the KS2 SATs period approaches, Year 6 teams are juggling high expectations with the everyday realities of classroom life.
Designed to supplement our face to face programme, these sessions are a flexible way to access the same expert input wherever you're based. Each one has a single, clear focus, giving you the chance to go deeper on a specific area of KS2 SATs preparation without it taking you away from school for long.
It's part of a growing regional programme building on last year's KS2 SATs Support Network, which brought Year 6 teachers and leaders together for expert input, practical guidance and the reassurance of knowing you're not tackling this alone.
Join John Sisman from Priory Academies as he explores strategies to improve attainment and outcomes for disadvantaged learners in mathematics. Drawing on work linked to the NCETM Strategic Board, this session will introduce the Great Teaching Toolkit and examine how high-quality pedagogy can strengthen teaching practice. Participants will also consider approaches to developing fluency and mastery of number, alongside inclusive SEND provision and alternative pathways that support success for all learners.
