Excellence in Practice Visit - Springwell Community College

Join colleagues from across the partnership for an inspiring visit to Springwell Community College, part of The Two Counties Trust (TTCT), to explore how a relentless focus on inclusion, culture, and high expectations has driven significant school improvement. Springwell serves a community with levels of deprivation above national benchmarks and recently achieved its first-ever 'Good' judgement across all areas, alongside notable improvements in attendance and student outcomes and has been identified by the DfE through the Similar Schools Report for attendance as a school that others can visit and learn from.

During the visit, delegates will gain first-hand insight into Springwell's improvement journey and the trust-wide strategies that have helped create inclusive schools where all students can thrive. The programme will showcase TTCT's approach to designing schools around priority students, including opportunities to observe practice in action, hear from senior leaders, and explore the systems and routines that underpin a strong universal offer.

This session is rooted in The Two Counties Trust’s (TTCT) vision of enhancing life choices, underpinned by a culture that champions belonging, enriching student experiences, continuous professional learning, and clarity of leadership. Guided by its core values of ambition, teamwork and honesty, TTCT has developed a coherent and inclusive approach to school improvement. Delegates will gain insight into how the trust’s strategic priorities—creating a compelling learning culture, delivering a high-value curriculum, putting people first, and building an empowered organisation—are translated into impactful practice that improves outcomes for both pupils and staff.
